Two new arrivals from Idlewild Wines!
Situated in Mendocino County, they produce wines with minimalist winemaking techniques, organic farming, and from traditional grape varietals used in the Piedmont region of Italy.
Idlewild Wines The Bird, Flora & Fauna Red Blend 2016
*A blend of 39% Barbera, 28.5% Nebbiolo, 26% Dolcetto, 4% Grignolino, and 2.5% Freisa. Instantly there’s a burst of rich black and red cherry on the nose, red fruits, chopped herbs, dusty flower pollen, and a hint of citrus. On the palate, playful notes of wild strawberry, cranberry and fresh red flowers lead to a slightly peppery finish with mocha, earth and a pencil lead minerality. Light and fresh with just enough acid and tannic structure.*
Idlewild Wines The Bee, Flora and Fauna White 2016
*Composed of 53% Muscat Canelli, 42% Arneis, and 5% Cortese. Intense aromas of lychee, roses, potpourri, and honey sticks. There’s a nice sea spray salinity with hints of candied apples, white flowers, peach rings, tropical fruits, and wet stone minerality in the background. Delightfully dry and crisp on the palate with a focused and refreshing citrus acidity. A great wine to choose when looking for something fruity and floral but still dry and vibrantly crisp.*
