New Wine Arrivals

Vega Valterra Utiel-Requena Bobal 2016
*While Bobal is the 3rd most planted grape varietal in Spain it is still rather unknown in the vast wine world. Lots of dark and purple berries on the palate with hints of spice, black tea, and licorice stick while finishing with hints of cigar smoke, ash, and charred wood flavors. The acidity is juicy, like fresh blackberry juice, and the tannins are leathery and dry without being harsh*

Andrew Lane “Barrel-Select” Red Blend 2012
*One of the best finds we’ve had this year. A Napa blend with fruit from premium sites, aged in barrels for 4 years before bottling, and for under $30. Notes of sour cherry, raspberry, dried violets, mushroom, damp soil, dried tobacco leaf, cocoa, cassis, blackberry, and anise. The mouthfeel features a healthy dose of fine grained, slightly chewy tannins with a very long and smooth finish. A well integrated wine with balanced features that over-delivers for the price*

Domaine de Saje Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2016
*This wine is made up of 80-85% Grenache with the rest being a field blend of the other 12 permitted varietals. Notes of black cherry, roasted meats, herbs, dark fruits, blueberries, roses, candied orange, candied ginger, and a hint of vermouth-like botanicals. Medium-bodied on the palate with firm and lightly grippy tannins, and stony minerality. It’s has an interesting blend of fruit, spice, and earthy flavors that is unique and very expressive*
