For the pale Märzen we use a lighter smoked malt that is smoked over open beechwood, just like the classic Märzen. This gives the beer a bright amber color and the typical aroma of Aecht Schlenkerla Smokebeer, which is so appreciated by aficionados all over the world.

The taste is smoother than the classic Märzen, but with a more pronounced smoky aroma.
