Drift is our new seasonal series of fruited beers. Real fruit, never extracts, dry rather than sweet. The fruit changes with each release.

Like everything we make, it’s fermented in oak barrels with a community of wild yeasts and bacteria rather than a single strain, on a timeline the cultures set rather than one we choose. We don’t filter or pasteurize, so the microbes responsible for that fermentation are still alive in the can.

Cellador Ales Drift (Blueberries & Marionberries)

This first release is fruited with blueberries and marionberries and naturally carbonated by refermenting on blueberry juice. It pours a deep, saturated garnet, somewhere between blackberry and dark wine. It’s packed with fruit character, and it’s built for a Tuesday as much as a celebration.

Blueberries and marionberries, aged in oak with our house cultures and then carbonated with an addition of blueberry juice. Huge fruit but dry rather than sweet.

Something I say a lot about our beer: I don’t want to make beers you want to drink two ounces of. I want to make beers you want to drink two of. Drift is our answer to that in a fruited beer.

If you don’t know us, you see fruit on a can and think sweet. If you do, you see it and think sour. Drift is neither. It’s dry, it’s tart, and the fruit shows up as aroma and structure rather than sugar.
