Echeverria No Es Pituko Orange Sauvignon Blanc 2024
THE WINE: This Chilean orange is made from single vineyard, old-vine sauvignon blanc that has been wild fermented and left on the skins for 60 days and bottled unfiltered with no sulfur added. On the palate, you’ll detect smoky stone fruit and citrus with savory wild herbs and a nice grip.
THE PRODUCER: The vineyards at Viña Echeverría are located in the Curicó Valley and the rows are planted in an east-westerly direction to potentiate the sun’s exposure. We work with a model of micro viticulture, which means that each plot, no more than half a hectare, is identified according to its terroir and microclimate and planted, pruned, irrigated and harvested accordingly, resulting in grapes of optimum quality and flavor.
Our winery is in Chile´s Valle de Curico, (on a latitude with South Africa, or New Zealand to give you an idea), in a broad valley between the Andes mountains and the Pacific Ocean. It’s like this corridor of extremely lush agricultural land with very diverse and fertile soil. The mountain and ocean breezes control temperature and regulate the sun during the long, hot summers, helping the vines mature slowly and evolve flavours. Not only that, but we have very few vineyards pests, which means a near perfect environment for organic agriculture.
From a grapes point of view, it doesn’t get much better.
