Special stronger version of the Ettal Heller (German Pale Lager).
Helles is the German word for “pale lager” so this is their version of a session beer.
This version is a Special Heller Bock Version that comes in at 7.2% abv as compared to the 5.2% Heller version.
Relatively very high degree of attenuation to achieve optimum balance between alcoholic strength, malt sweetness and hoppy spiciness.
The Benedictine monks of Ettal Abbey have been brewing their much-praised specialties since the 16th century. Using fine malt and hops from Bavarian growing areas, special beers are brewed with the crystal-clear and pure water of the Ammer Mountains in accordance with the Bavarian Purity Law.
