Gurrieri Moscato Terre Siciliane 2021
Moscato Bianco has a few thousand years of history in this corner of the world. In Siracusa there is a tradition of making dry, still expressions from the grape.
The site for this wine is at about 300 meters just below the village of Chiaramonte Gulfi. There is a mix of clay, sand and rocks at this site with plenty of diurnal range. That helps to yield a really complex expression of Moscato that goes beyond aromatics.
In fact, we have a difficult time explaining this wine without mentioning that it tastes like a wine from Gurrieri. That means: salty, vibrant, fresh and layered.
