Lideyre Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux 2007
Nothing warms the cockles of our hearts like a well-aged Bordeaux from a top vintage at a bargain price.
Relatively unevolved color, plummy Merlot fruit with deep iron tones, and that tell-tale salty lick in the tail that bespeaks an authentic old-school Bordeaux.
A lovely bottle of middle-aged wine at a bargain price. It is this, the home property of the Bardet family, that is Philippe’s favorite, despite its supposedly lesser status.
