Lost Cause Meadery Lemon’s Cello Encore

Our famous (infamous?) limoncello mead is back! 🍋🎻

This is our all-time favorite spring & summertime mead, and in its fourth iteration, this year’s version is officially called “Lemon’s Cello: Encore”. And even though this is one of the few meads we make more than once, we still change it up a bit each year. Blame Billy.

This year we went a bit more bougie, based on how much everyone loved the “Lemon’s Cello: Charred” variant last year. So we used three different types of lemons (Sorrento, Myer & Eureka) as well as three types of vanilla (East Timor, Vanuatu & West Papau). As always, the base was made with beautiful California Orange Blossom honey.

You may remember from a past post, those rare Sorrento lemons are the same ones used for traditional limoncello in Italy- and we’re lucky enough to have one of the few farms in the country with Sorrento groves right here in SD.

The result of this new recipe is, we think, our best Lemon’s Cello mead to date.
