Lyrarakis Kedros Liatiko Rosé 2022
The nose reveals nuances of herbs and pink grapefruit, while the mineral-laden palate is silky in texture with very light red fruit notes. Finishes with chalky minerals. A superbly fresh and unique rosé.
The Kedros vineyard is on the foothills of Mt. Kedros in the Psiloritis mountain range. Crete is an island with a scorching sun and an endless wind. Some of the pre-phylloxera bush Liatiko vines are nearly 100 years old and grow at 850 meters above sea level. Dry farmed, and the soil is loam.
The grapes are pressed directly. Ten percent of the wine is aged in 225L oak barrels for two months. This is a characterful, driven dry mountain rosé.
