Vintage Characteristics
2018 has been a slightly colder year than average, with a fairly cool spring and a mild summer. In terms of precipitations, the earth received a good amount of water, especially in spring. This induced a slower ripening which in turn resulted in more color, softer tannins, good acidity and a great balance. 2018 is definitely one of the best vintages of the last 10 years. September 13 marked the beginning of the harvest.
Wine Advocate – “The 2018 Pegaso Zeta feels complete, with good complexity and nuance, showing the varietal character and the texture provided by the granite soils. There is terrific balance and good depth, and it’s layered and precise. A wine that really delivers for the price.” (91+ Pts)
