Torre dei Beati Cocciapazza
It has the old, intriguing name of the area where our vineyard is planted (in the Abruzzo dialect “cocciapazza” means “crazy head”), as it is intended to be the best traditional expression of the Montepulciano in our land. The repeated harvests, in general three per vintage, are carried out in the plot with the best soil and climate conditions, able to give the fullest bodied and mature wines.
VARIETY: Montepulciano 100%
PLANTING YEAR: 1972
FERMENTATION: steel tanks
AGEING: 20 months in French oak barriques
Wine Enthusiast – “This rich Montepulciano offers dense aromas of brandy-soaked black cherry and blackberry, blended with integrated accents of clove, menthol, tobacco and worn leather. It’s plush in feel on the full-bodied palate, showing fully fleshed out berry flavors etched in a bevy of warm and savory spice tones. Despite all that richness, there’s ample lift and intensity to the acidity and a gentle grip to the rounded, polished tannins. It’s accessible now but would hold well through 2028.” (92 Pts)
