Vinous Obscura Kék Bika 2021
The 2021 version is a stunner. Just a bit more structure this vintage than the 2019, but still remains fresh. It’s got an incredible deep blue/garnet color, blue fruits, floral aromatics, and a clean refreshing finish.
This is a highly enjoyable, easily drinkable red wine. Vinous Obscura Kék Bika (Blue Bull) is another glimpse into the great potential of these Hungarian red grapes in the dynamic loess soils within the Willamette Valley.
Aged in used Hungarian oak barrels, we set out to reimagine what is possible in the Willamette Valley. We are more like the former Austro-Hungarian wine regions than Burgundy. Bottled unfined (vegan) and unfiltered.

Reviews
Wine Enthusiast – “Talk about rare. This is a co-fermented Kekfrankos-Agria-Zweigelt-Rondo blend that was aged in Hungarian oak. It is light-bodied, with silky tannins, modest acidity and a smooth, slick mouthfeel. Aromas and flavors include blackberries, black cherries, forest floor, blood orange and cured meat.” (90 Pts)
