Tuscan terroir is suitable far many different grape varieties, but several give particularly expressive results in certain microzones. This is the case with Syrah in our microclimate which, together with the immediate appeal of Merlot and the typically territorial personality of, gives an original and complex wine.
The 2015 vintage must be considered high level. We found ourselves with a well balanced growing season: a winter with ample rainfall, a mild spring, and a warm summer with highly useful August rainfall which assisted a ripening – both analytical and physiological – which was virtually perfect. The Merlot and Syrah were picked around September 10th, while both the Sangiovese and the Cabernet were harvested between the end of September and the first week of October.
Intense in color with delicate aromas of cinnamon, chocolate, and black pepper, soave and supple on the palate with a velvety texture, the finish and aftertaste of the wine are pleasurably long and full.
