2016 Chardonnay, Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley
Vineyards: The Estate Bon Passe Vineyard and its neighbor the Trefethen Vineyard are both located in the southwestern bench lands of Napa Valley, in the Oak Knoll District.
Appellation: Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley
Growing Season: The 2016 vintage started out like the 2015 vintage with a mild February leading to an earlier bud break of early March. May, June and July were consistently warm and pleasant leading to expectations of another early harvest. With a lack of extreme heat spikes in August and September, and moderate temperatures, we were able to let the fruit hang and gradually ripen. The Chardonnay grapes attained a wonderful balance of flavors and acidity.
Harvest Date: Estate Bon Passe September 10th and Trefethen Vineyard September 26th

Tasting Notes: Refreshing and vibrant, our 2016 Chardonnay offers aromas of stone fruit (white peach), pear, brioche, vanilla, créme brulée, and hints of lemon zest. The rich yet balanced palate presents ripe pear, lemon curd, vanilla cream and Crenshaw melon. Medium body, lush and viscous on the entry leading to crisper, clean citrus fruits through the mid palate and a lively fresh finish. Enjoy!
