Bright ruby red with purple reflections, extremely pleasant notes of very ripe red and black cherry, sweet spices and liquorice with underlying mineral notes of graphite an d earth. In the mouth it is quite thick and intense, the tannins are evident, but not aggressive, the wine is well balanced. This wine – excellent when young and at its best after 4-5 years – is to be matched with lamb and pork roasts and with seasoned, but not spicy, cheese.
